How to Choose a Web Service Plan

Below are two data point estimators that will help you decide on what Web Services Plan is right for you. The first by Register Count, if you know about how many registers that you need to push. The second is by Sensor Type, if you know what application/sensors you are going to use.

Data Point Estimator by Register Count
Number of DXM Gateways:
Pushing Every:
minutes
Number of Registers:
Points Per Hour:
= # of DXMs * # of Registers * Uploads/hour
Estimated Plan: Starter – $400/year: 1000 Points/hour
Data Point Estimator by Sensor Type
Number of DXM Gateways:
Pushing Every:
minutes
Sensor Type:
Number of Sensors:
Points Per Hour:
= # of DXMs * # of Sensors * Registers/sensor * Uploads/hour
Estimated Plan: Starter – $400/year: 1000 Points/hour

What is a Data Point?

A data point is a timestamp and a value. The value can represent a temperature, humidity, distance, GPS location, or generic sensor register.  To manage the number of Data Points in Total Storage, companies can adjust the number of days their data will be retained.  To manage the number of Data Points per Hour companies can adjust the frequency of pushes to the Banner Connected Data Solutions service.  Companies that exceed the plan limitations will be notified to move to the next tier plan for the subsequent month.
